Last evening was my best friends (Anna and Jonathan) wedding banquet and I was glad to be their moderator. Although my friends said I did a good job of the event, I still scored myself "B" grade of my performance. And, I knew that was not my problem beacuse the restaurent's staff did not follow my instructions and rundown. They just used their common practice to handle the order of dishes. Therefore, there had some not prefect situation likes changed my programme schedule without notification, delayed broadcasting the music as well as scheduled the "toasting wine" time when I was still on stage. Luckly, I tried to pretend myself very confident and completed the event successfully. But, it was such a good experience for me coz I understood the importance of event management. Even though you have done a very detailed briefing before event, people who claimed themeselves as experience stakeholders that would use their own way to do it without your premission. So, as a coordinator, you should have a contingency plan in mind to deal with such kind of problems. And, luckly, the best men was a very smart guy and he assisted me to handle many problems.
Anyway, I learned many things during the event. And, it was difficult to learn in my workplace and it was a good experience for a professional PR role. :)
